I've got the all my props and effects all wired up in Nuke, next was...
- Applying blur and glow to sparks
- Roto mask part of smoke volume
- Grading
- Heat distortion
Problem: Nuke errors out upon rendering final sequence (Good info)
Had a "Write Node" at the end to output the sequence but it errors out as soon as the loading screen pops out. The last time this happened was because i didn't type "####" for frame padding in the path - this time i had it but it's not commencing the render.
I approached Dan and he was puzzled too, he attempted to troubleshoot it by checking the command line to see what kind of error is occurring and launching Nuke via command line. It turned out that wasn't the problem, another thing that may be causing this is corrupted/missing frames in one of my renders.
Went up-stream, attaching a "Write Node" at each major junction and it appears were rendering fine. The problem only happens when i attached the "Write Node" at the end.
The problem only went away when I wired the "Write Node" between the "Camerashake Node" & "Viewer", it was wired to "Camerashaske Node" at the start... such a silly problem, didn't make sense to me but at least i can move forward now!
Render: Shot030
Setting up all the takes.
Here I have foreground hammer, sparks and molten surface rendering while I jump back into Nuke.
WIP: Rendering Smoke Effect
Tweaking and test-rendering smoke for shot030, I was trying columns of metaballs the other day but now I want to see how blocks of metaballs look.
I ended up using blocks of metaballs as it worked better with the camera zooming out.
