Leica Reel
Traci was nice to help scan our storyboards last week and they came into play today while I was working on my leica reel. Was following Cataclysm Cinematic and noting down the timing for shot010 and 020, had to time sh030 on my own though.

A quick recap of the boards, so you could look at both it and the reel together.

Previsualization, blocking out shots
Managed to complete the leica reel fairly quick, took just over an hour. Decided to move on to blocking shots which Steven plans to look at the next meeting, most of the time was spent timing the shots as close to the leica reel as possible.
I wasn't sure if I had to model these scenes to scale but I just tried to make sure the animations, cameras and positions of geometries are exactly where I want them to be in my final shots (changes may occur later). Hahaha...
Getting the hang of using Channel Editor, was with it the whole afternoon. Changing between functions like linear, vmatchin, bezier and etc, getting comfortable copy/paste and moving the keyframes along the timeline in the channel editor. The Channel Editor still isn't my favourite place to work, glad I am not a character animator!

Searching for fonts
As you can see from the leica and previs, the final shot will have word markings. Steven mentioned about looking into every detail even the type of fonts if we're using any.
I definitely wanted to go for the medieval style, scanned through that category at www.dafont.com which is the number one website I go to when it comes to fonts.
The three font types below are being considered, a decision should be made by this Thursday.
Lift Craft
Since it was going to be a tribute to World of Warcraft, this font definitely makes it into my list.

Tengwar Anaatar (Elvish)
Found this cool elvish-looking font, Lord of the Rings came straight to my mind and maybe I could consider revealing a ring with "Side Effects Software Inc, Los Angeles 2011" engraved on it. Could mean extra and I'll need to manage my time to pull it off.

Pieces of Eight
Pirates of the Caribbean. Gothic feel, this would be my third choice if it comes down to it.

end.
