Week 03 Day 17, 27th June '11 (Mon)




Beginning of Day 17

Spent a fair amount of my time updating and documenting my hip files today, lost the whole morning to that. Was glad I sat down and did that before forgetting everything.

& also apologize for the sudden change of my title conversions, previously was a simple "Day ##" but now we have this long title "Week ## Day ##, DD MM YY (Day)" which is lengthy. It makes my life much easier when tracking images/videos/blog-entries, strongly recommend everyone to do similar method.



Displacement Shader Question
Had a question relating to displacement shader inside of SHOP context, was planning to approach Erik but unfortunately he returned to Sweden. Instead Corrine offered to give it a look and showed me how she would do it, at the same time she was trying to troubleshoot a problem which i was encountering but it was simply fixed by adding "Properties node" and installing Displacement Bound parameter via Edit Rendering Parameters options.

It was an issue i faced during my Final Year Project a month ago. She wasn't able to work on my hip file which had similar problems as i didn't have it on me so... maybe some other time.


















Reworking Previs
Looking back at the possible improvements pointed out by Steven, I was back onto my previs shots. Completed the changes on sh020 and sh030, rendered their flipbooks, hopefully i'll finish up sh010 tomorrow and put them back as a sequence.

HQueue (Render Farm)
Ziggy explained how we can learn to use the render farm and that there's priority thingy going on when it comes to sending our jobs there, but it's free for use as long as it's not a busy day. Got to pick that up when I hit the production stage!
