Farmers Market, Virginia Park
Laundry!
I prefer doing laundry in a sunny afternoon over middle of the night, where all the spiders and bugs are crawling around. Had to be careful when collecting the clothes at night while keeping an eye on those creepy crawlers, such a pain.
BBQ Dinner
Dinner Menu: Steak, pork chop, salmon, scallops, salad/roasted greens and ice-cream & fruits.
I enjoyed being there, having good meals & chats. Everybody should start appreciating meals prepared for them, it's not easy getting home after a long day at the office and still need to fix your own dinner etc.
Steven and Shih Peng shared a lot of stuff in every aspect of life, even political. Being a Singaporean or a person, we should put in effort knowing what's happening around us such as local LA news and news back home. Work-wise, it is perfectly fine to change your path and do what you love rather than sticking onto something you dislike and be miserable forever which I strongly agree.
Steven shared the path he took and people he met along the way, how he got to where he is now. "It's who you know to get in, what you know to stay in" he said, you can have an awesome demoreel and fancy resume but having somebody putting a good word for you helps so much!
A question of mine got them onto the topic of working VISA, how to qualify for it and the paperwork etc. It does kind of suck to know that you require a bachelor (equivalent to 4 years tertiary education) to avoid extra visa paperwork which may deter your potential employers. It added onto the list of things which is already a major chaos, but i am glad to be told about it - no harm knowing more!
One final thing, we've been constantly reminded to be pro-active when there's an event or when we meet industrial experts. Got to engage in conversions!
So much to share but you guys could ask me via e-mail (zhengjiabao@hotmail.com) or in-person next time.
end.
