WIP: Sparks Particles R&D
With suggestion from Steven, having the particles have very high velocity and have a drag kick later - this way the particles form a long streak to a small dot with motion blur activated.
Instead of just pouring sparks from the top, I used a "Point SOP" to add normals and have them point all outwards 360 degrees to make them spray out like a ring of fire.

Was also adding random mass attribute to the particles so they travel/fall at different rate.
Visualizing Particles Mass
Just another test, i colored the particles based on $MASS... the black ones are heavier than the white ones, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.
After some decent progress on the molten shader, i decided to render it in sh020 and see how it looks from the camera. Apparently HQueue still doesn't read the shader otl even though i already embedded it into the hip file, tried a list of methods but it's still so good. Had to settle with rendering from one workstation.
02_sh020_hq
Send it into HQueue and it did not render the surface geometry which had the molten shader otl assigned to it.
02_sh020_sm
Renders perfectly on a single machine.
13_hammer Still Renders
I managed to work a bit more on the hammer, but there wasn't enough time finish rendering the turn-a-round so here's the single frames!
I usually render them with the colors i'm using for the final shot but i was told it's best to have it rendered in general lighting condition to see the "real" look and details. This was rendered with Sun/Skylight plus PBR.
EXIT EXIT EXIT!
Time to "exit" the office, heading home.
Dinner to go @ El Pollo Loco
I always see this place when i'm on the big blue bus 7, it's located at Pico Blvd and Lincoln Blvd if i didn't remember wrongly.
I ordered 2 piece chicken combo which came with fries, felt it was similar to KFC but the chickens were all grilled. They have a huge grill right behind the counter, pieces of chicken taken off the grill as soon as the customers place their order.
Curious how long do they stay on the grill if nobody comes into the store... hahaha.
The food is decent considering it cost me 6 bucks, rate it 5.85/10.
end of a long day.
